Draft for Imperial Enterprise
Ecoquity business plan
Ecoquity is the proposed Imperial spin-out to commercialise AWAIR (public environmental displays) and AirBase (workforce exposure intelligence) on a shared Environmental Research Group technology stack. This page is driven by a living assumptions file — change venue counts or costs and the projections update.
Products & IP
AWAIR places health-relevant air quality into public environments without requiring an app. AirBase helps employers measure and reduce workforce exposure using phone location and model concentration maps.
Patent GB129728 covers a method for calculating personal pollution exposure along a journey — the core of AirBase. Both products share cloud delivery of hyperlocal air quality derived from regulatory monitoring and models. Hardware know-how and software copyright form the wider licence perimeter.
Traction
Commercial model
AWAIR is subscription-led: hardware sold at modest margin (10–20%); recurring data subscription ( → /unit/year) is the profit engine. Contract mix modelled as 70% / 30% for 2- / 3-year terms (2-year minimum). Customers install; replaceable displays (~) reduce replacement cost after vandalism.
AirBase is B2B SaaS priced per seat with onboarding fees. Early years assume a slower client ramp than AWAIR while paid packaging matures.
Venue TAM (fill as you gather counts)
Enter counts below. Until then, the Committee scenario uses an interim unit path.
Counts are editable below; venue totals should be checked against the linked official
sources (DfE, NHS England, ORR, etc.). Values save in this browser only (localStorage).
To make them permanent for the shared site, paste them into
financial-model/data/assumptions.json.
Financial projections
Break-even / Base / High-line follow the decision-log unit trajectories. Committee is venue-driven when TAM counts are present. Delivery costs modelled at ~£3/device/yr in the shared financial model.
Ask & risks
Seeking approximately for certification, manufacturing setup, working capital, sales capacity and product refinement — runway measured in cashflow months, not overnight profit.
- EOIs must convert to paid multi-year cohorts
- Indoor/outdoor mix and cloud/SIM costs still open
- AirBase paid conversion beyond research pilots still to prove
